"Your work amazingly captures the spirit and detail of the subject. You are very talented. Thank you for the portrait of my Joey." One day someone asked me, "Can you draw dogs?" I had never tried, I realized. I went home and did a few trial runs. When I brought them to work and showed her, she had me do my first comissioned pet portrait! I must have lost touch with my artwork over the years, but that got me back on track. I have worked with pastels, acrylic, colored pencils and like to try new things. Lately I've been experimenting with pop art on my computer. My favorite is just plain old pencil, though.
