I was born and grew up in Waynesboro, Virginia, a rural area of the central Shenandoah Valley. At a young age I aspired to be an artist - wearing an artist's smock and carrying a palette to "career day" in first grade. In 2006, I graduated from the College of William and Mary with a BA in Painting. At that point, I took a year off from my formal art education and worked as a conservation fine art framer, elementary art educator, and art administrator.
