My interest in drawing and painting started as a young girl. I was greatly influenced by my father, an engineer and artist. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, and lived there until 1989. Since then, the Seattle area has been my home. I attended art schools in Philadelphia, and later received my degree in art from the University of WA. Currently, I am a high school art teacher and enjoy my job working with budding young artists.
My artwork has always remained my passion in life. It has been a reflection of my life, temperament, and worldview. I have never intentionally tried to create a personal style. My personal style has emerged as a result of my determination to remain true to myself and paint what is inspirational and important to me. This is reflected in the diversity and versatility of my artwork. I paint for my own self-expression, and the subject matter I choose is diverse. I am especially fascinated with the way in which light interacts with forms. Although my personal taste in art is very eclectic, the artists I tend to admire and aspire to the most, are the classical and contemporary realists.
